HiFi concepts for a new era

ONGEN Publishing, a leading media publisher in Japan, is excited to present its newly constructed listening room for the renowned Hi-Fi magazine Audio Accessory. The project, titled Hi-Fi Concepts for a New Era Introduced by Seven Experts, features various audio critics presenting their favorite Hi-Fi systems for the test room. The featured high-end systems represent some of the best components in the Hi-Fi world and emphasize the outstanding quality and performance of modern audio technology.

Audio expert Ikuo Tsunoda presents a system that includes products from MUTEC, Bowers & Wilkins and Boulder. A key role is played by the MUTEC REF10 NANO, an audiophile 10 MHz reference master clock generator that improves the performance of digital audio systems by providing low phase noise clock signals. According to Tsunoda, the REF10 NANO takes the entire playback chain to a new level by providing more precision and stability, which increases resolution and improves the soundstage.

More depth and analog smoothness in the sound image

The renowned Japanese online magazine Phile Web, also part of ONGEN Publishing, accurately describes the effect of the REF10 NANO: The effects of the MUTEC REF10 NANO are an even higher resolution and an excellent reproduction of the width and depth of the sound stage. On Quiet Winter Night by 2L, which is also my reference sound source, I feel a depth in the quiet notes and an additional analog smoothness in the sound image. This makes the singer's voice even more vivid and expressive. The effect is due to the high-precision OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator) in the REF10 NANO, which has hardly any phase noise.

The complete system from Ikuo Tsunoda includes the 1110 preamplifier and 1161 power amplifier from Boulder, the Bowers & Wilkins 801 D4 Signature loudspeakers, the MPS-6 SACD player and MPS-X streamer from Playback Designs and the Dela N1 music server. The MUTEC REF10 NANO serves as a high-quality master clock in conjunction with the coaxial cable MUTEC PSC 50 BNC/BNC.

The integration of MUTEC products into one of the reference systems of Audio Accessory impressively illustrates the current possibilities of high-quality digital music reproduction. We are proud to be part of this project and look forward to continuing to deliver innovations that take listening pleasure to a new level.
